Install onto new machine |
I currently have contact plus pro. on a xp laptop. I would like to move it to a vista laptop. Can this be done? If so how?

You'll need to install a fresh copy onto your laptop first. That will create all of the necessary shortcuts and database engine settings. Make sure it works using the sample data on the new vista machine. Note install into the C:\CPPRO folder rather than the c:\program files\cppro folder for vista.
Then you can make a backup on the old machine using the backup/restore program. This program is called prbackup.exe and located in the CPPRO folder or you can probably find it by clicking on the Start button, program files, contact plus pro, tools menu from Windows. The backup/restore program will create two ZIP files that can then be transferred to the new machine via a USB drive. Run the prbackup.exe program on the new machine to then Restore your data that was on the old machine. |
