If you want the quick pick, use the Ctrl button PLUS the double click. This has been fixed. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.9.7.5 =================================================================== 1) If you are using the network version and the last person on AND you have the option to "Attempt to backup on exit" set then the backup program will automatically start to run when exiting CPPRO. Single users with the same option set will also see the backup program automatically run on exit. If you have disabled the option to automatically remind you of a backup on exit you can reset this by clicking on the File menu, Administrative options, Reset Backup Warning Options. We encourage you to have this set so that you are reminded to make regular data backups at least on a hard drive. 2) On the EVENTS TAB of the main screen you'll now see totals under the SUMMARY and MEMO column. The totals will display the total number of events notes, letters, calls, todos, meetings, quotes and sales. 3) When opening up a database the totals will appear at the bottom of the Open Database window. Also this window is now resizable and will remember the size between sessions. The number of marked records is shown at the bottom. 4) The HOT/COLD indicator that appears at the upper left of the screen now has the +3, +2, +1, -1, -2, -3 indicators clearly marked rather than simply hash marks. 5) The age of the contact is now displayed in weeks, months and years rather than in just total number of days. This appears in the upper left portion of the main screen. 6) You now cannot delete the current open database nor the last database in the system. 7) You can now RETRIEVE email through GMAIL. There is a new setting under the retrieve email menu that enables you to setup a GMAIL account for incoming email. 8) There is a new BUTTON COLORS under the Setup menu, Screen, SCREEN APPEARANCE tab. You can change the appearance of the buttons as well as make the command buttons transparent. 9) Added a new MARK ALL button on the main screen in the lower right hand corner. You can easily mark the contacts, unmark them and navigate marked contacts using this button. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.9.7.3 =================================================================== 1) If you are using the Word2007 interface for generating letters, you no longer have to exit Word before merging a new letter or editing an existing form template letter. Thus now you can multiple WORD windows up at the same time. 2) Added the USER ID to the generated letter name - this is a great feature for Smart Merge users who have more than one person generating letters to the same company/person in the field and wish to maintain unique letter names. 3) The email1 field is duplicated on the upper portion of the main screen so you can see the email address no matter what tab is visible. 4) Added the ability to swap phone numbers around on the phone tab. 5) Updated the Microsoft Live maps to reflect the new search engine BING. Click on Activities menu, Display Map menu to see.k 6) Updated the status buttons hints on the upper left portion of the main screen which tell the age of the contact, the quantity and last notes, the last sale, scheduled todo, schedule meeting, etc. Pause the mouse cursor over the status buttons to see the updated hints. 7) Added the ability to mark all contacts who are "neutral" in their hot/cold status. The search will be instantaneous. 3) Fixed the Dates Search screen so selecting multiple dates works properly. Also the resulting grid of dates can be sent to an HTML file. 4) Use Ctrl + Alt + C to compare 2 contacts side by side. Improved the interface to the side by side comparison to make it easier to use. 5) Put in a combobox into the Generated Letters Screen and Form Template screen if you find you're in a situation where these paths change say using smart merge - it will be handy. 6) Added a new option for including your user ID in the generated letter name when creating new individual mail/merge letters. This option will help smart merge users in individualizing their generated letters. 7) F7 notes now saves the splitter position between sessions per request. 8) The Save Set of Marked contacts now saves the number of marked contacts in the description 9) Added 'dear', 'title', 'honor', 'assistant', and 'country' to the side by side comparison screen. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.9.6.2 =================================================================== 1) The reports now correctly remember what report/tab you were on between printing reports so that you don't have to keep clicking on the classic reports if that's the last tab you used. 2) The change in 3.9.6.1 inadvertently saved the

Use this option rather than the MAPI option to send out html email. There is a checkbox that will enable you to turn off the conflict checking when scheduling new events. Normally if turned on you'll get a warning message if two or more events overlap on the same date/time. Turn the warning messages off here. 2) The datechanged/timechanged field is updated when running the internal import routine - File menu, Import. This code will format today's date WITHOUT the day of the week appearing: {{LongToday}} formats as "Wednesday, January 22, 2008" {{LongTodayNoDay}} formats as "January 22, 2008" Also added 2 new codes for merging your name and title in a signature. The name code is {{YourName}} and your title code is {{YourTitle}}. Your name and title used for the signature appear in the User Preferences screen, Biographical tab. This screen is access by clicking on the File menu, Administrative options, User Preferences. These new codes will NOT appear in the menus of WordPerfect or pre-2007 version of Word. However, even though the new codes won't appear, they can still be typed into your template document manually. For Word2007 users, the codes WILL appear in the merge field selection window. 5) Added a CLONE menu item to both the Events and Notes screen. This option will come up when clicking on the MORE button on both the events and notes. You will be able to clone a copy of the current event (call, letter, meeting, etc) or note. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.9.3 =================================================================== 1) Support for sending an html webpage either on the internet or on your C drive. Simply use the @ symbol to include your webpage in an email which includes graphics. See the video tutorial on this new feature. 2) Can send email using GMAIL - also see the video tutorial on this 3) The F2 calendar has been updated to include durations of events on weekly/monthly calendars and will now synchronize the current date between the month, week, day calendars when switching between calendar views. 4) Includes a new checkbox on dialing the phone - need to check it if you want the dialer to hangup when you click OK after initially dialing the phone. 5) If using big fonts (over 12 points) the screen will be drawn properly so the fields should no longer overlap on the main page. 6) Increased the size of the Alarms window. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.9.2 =================================================================== 1) The phone does not hang up when dialing using TAPI dialer. This will bring up the F7 notes window for the current contact. 4) Added an Events option under the MORE button on the NOTES. Like the change in (3) this will bring up the F7 Notes for the current contact. 5) Changed the summary column to a notes column in F7 notes on the grid that appears on the left. When moving the mouse over the NOTES column you'll get a bigger picture of what the actual note is about by simply the first line. 6) Added a memo column on the grid that appears on the left in the Events so that you can cursor over the MEMO without clicking on the actual event. This feature really enables a user to quickly generate a custom contact report using the built-in WP without having to switch back and forth on the Global, Setup screen. 2) The makeuser program now clears out the userson table when deleting a user from the system. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.8.6 =================================================================== 1) Added a new Outlook Import button to import into the current open database or ALL databases. This enables you to import a restricted set of contacts into the current database. 2) Fixed an issue where the Outlook import would create duplicate contacts in certain cases. This generally occured when switching to a new machine. 3) Updated the Help file to fix phone number references. 4) Updated the Outlook Results window to give better more meaningful results when doing the Import from Outlook operation. 5) The Outlook Security module now works with Office 2007 in preventing the security messages from coming up when sending email or interfacing with Outlook. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.8.5 =================================================================== 1) The tab title text color for the following tabs: Description, Events, Plan and Related all will turn Red rather than Black if that particular tab is not empty and you're not currently viewing that tab. For example if the contact has no events the title EVENTS on the top of the tab will appear in black. If the contact has events and you're not currently viewing the event tab, the tab title "EVENTS" will turn red. 2) There is a new Setup, Global, Hot/Cold menu item. This new menu item enables you to change the color of the Hot/Cold indicator. Older versions simply changed the color from dark blue to bright red. You now can change them to any color. Also the color can apply to the entire top of the biographical area of the screen giving you a better visual clue as to the nature of the Hot/Cold status. Contacts that are in any particular status can be marked from the Hot/Cold status setup screen. 3) The Help, Tech Support menu now launches to the Help Desk on the internet website. Should also speed up Smart Merge during the merge operations. =================================================================== * Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.7.9 =================================================================== 1) Now has the ability to use TODO's in the marketing plan. This enables you to setup a sequence of events which can be assigned to different people. The sequence of events can then be attached to a contact calendar in one step. Each responsible user will receive an alarm when the TODO is available. It's a bit different than the Marketing Plan in that the series of TODO items will all be added to the calendar in one step rather than having to PERFORM the marketing plan. Check out the new video tutorial on this subject. 2) Added a new EVENTS field in the Contact Quick View screen. You'll have to manually add the field if you're an existing user of CPPRO. Simply right click on the Quick View screen, select to ADD COLUMNS and add the EVENTS entry (it should be at the bottom of the list). Then drag the EVENTS column to the very left in front of all other fields. You will be able to click on the button and see the events within the Quick View screen. We've setup a tutorial on this at the website. 3) Added a new View Tutorials on the Web menu item under the Help menu. This will enable you to quickly access the Video Tutorials available on our website whenever you need some help. Also the Video Tutorials have been restructured. 4) The event tab on the main screen now has a new MEMO field. Even though most of the MEMO field will be truncated you can simply position the mouse cursor over the MEMO field and you'll get a popup hint giving you about 10 lines of the MEMO field. This applies to the notes and events. Check the Video Tutorial on this new function. The MEMO field and popup has been also applied to the NOTES tab under the F4 View Events screen. 5) You'll notice that on the F4 View Events screen the events are grouped by date so that all events sharing the same date will be set apart. You can now send an individual email formatted with HTML code, multiple emails using HTML and even use the marketing assistant for HTML code. This allows you to include fonts, colors, text styles and web page links in your email messages. Note that this requires you to use SMTP as your mail transport. It will not work with MAPI at this time. 2) Can now send more than one attachment (both MAPI and SMTP). You can select multiple files as file attachments when sending email. 3) The Word macro file named CPPRO.DOT can be placed in the local folder where the CPPRO.EXE file is located. This overcomes some sharing difficulties when using more than one version of Word in your networking environment. 4) Fixed apparent lockups occuring when using IO mail and the WYWG messages in a networking environment. The notification of the new mail or message was interfering with any window that was currently visible (i.e. the F7 notes screen) which made it to appear as though the program was locked up. =================================================================== ***Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.6.5.3 =================================================================== 1) The Outlook/Palm Pilot/Pocket PC interface has now been released. This makes it much easier for the typing of a dash and a zip + 4. 3)Fixed reported issue when copying new contact fields on addition where the category field was getting blanked. It is no longer blanked out. 4) The reminder/events screen can now be resized vertically. This is especially nice if you have a large monitor and a bunch of events for a particular contact. We got rid of the 2 small buttons indicating the size of the event screen. 5) HTML Export of several of the contact and event grids. The new HTML export allows you to export the current displayed information either to an HTML file or to the clipboard where you can paste the file into your HTML Editor or Microsoft Excel. This new feature is accessed by RIGHT CLICKING on the Contact View List, Events Tab on the main screen. 6) Major overhaul of the way generated letters are stored. Previous versions would simply store all letters in a folder. With clients who had many letters this would result in thousands of generated files being created in a single folder (i.e. \cppro\letters) which slowed down file access. We fixed this issue by enabling the user to specify a naming convention where a folder name corresponding to the letternames would be created: OLD STYLE (all files stored in one folder) c:\cppro\letters\SmithJohn001.doc c:\cppro\letters\SmithJohn002.doc c:\cppro\letters\JonesBill001.doc NEW STYLE (files stored in another level): c:\cppro\letters\SmithJohn\SmithJohn001.doc c:\cppro\letters\SmithJohn\SmithJohn002.doc c:\cppro\letters\JonesBill\JonesBill001.doc The new folders will be created as needed. There is no need for you to create them manually. This is an option that must be turned on in order to get it to work. Note that existing letters created will still work properly and do not have to be moved into the new directory structure. SETUP MENU, GLOBAL, WORD PROCESSOR, LETTER FOLDERS TAB and must be turned on by *each* user. 7) Major overhaul of the backup/restore program. The backup/restore program had to be modified to accommodate the new letter naming convention. Additionally, you can now make backups to folders other than the root folder of the drive selected (i.e. C:\, D:\, etc). Additionally, you can now have a unique name for each backup file that's created during the backup process. The name will be uniquely generated and will be in the form probackYYYYMMDDHHMM.zip profrmsYYYYMMDDHHMM.zip So a backup made on September 3rd, 2003 at 9:32 am would be proback200309030932.zip IMPORTANT note: This version of the backup program is *not* compatible with earlier versions therefore in order to restore from an old zip file you will need to run the prbackupold.exe file located in the CPPRO folder. 8) Cool new feature in the F9 - Quick View screen. If you have the ALL CONTACTS radio button checked and are sorted by LASTFIRSTNAME then you can search on *both* the last name and first name. This is especially handy if you have a bunch of people with the same last name such as SMITH. Previously you would type in SMITH and the first SMITH would appear. If there were a bunch of SMITHS you would have to page down to find the proper one. Now you can simply type in "SMITH" followed by a semi-colon followed by the first name. Don't put a space around the semi-colon. Examples: Smith;J (Will go to the first J with the lastname of Smith ... note there is not a space around the semi-colon) Johnson;s (Goes to the first S with the lastname of Johnson) 9) There is a new EVENT REPORT filter on the WHERE field. You can now select those events with a particular WHERE field. 10) A bunch of MRU (Most Recently Used) controls have been added to various search menus such as the F8 search, Quick Email Search, Quick Phone Search. They save a history of what you've searched for in the past. =================================================================== ***Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.6.0 =================================================================== 1) The ability to COPY an event from one contact to another. From the event screen, simply click on the MORE button and select the option to copy the event to another contact. A list of all contacts available will be displayed. Simply select the appropriate contact and the *entire* event will be copied and will be part of the history of the other contact. An event can also be copied to a contact in an entirely different database. 2) The new ability to view contacts and their differences side by side in a split window within the main program. To access simply click on the Edit menu, then on the "Compare contacts side by side" menu item. The differences between two contacts will be highlighted and you can transfer the changes between the two. Of course this also works between contacts in different databases. We use it in-house when retrieving e-mail for orders. We can compare our original information with the information entered by the customer and update. Generally it will be the email or phone number that's changed. 3) In the events reports you can now select by more options. The following four options are available: Blank, Not Blank, Contains and Not Contains for both the notes and summary fields. This is for the event reports only. 4) The send email screen can be resized allowing for better viewing of the outgoing message. 5) The filter screen can also now be resized which shows more options. Especially handy for larger monitors. 6) The filter screen allows you to select filters based on USER and DB now. 7) The email template screens can be resized and the new size settings are stored on a per user basis. 8) You can now organize and change the DB field for email templates. Previously the email templates were assigned to a database based on the creation of the email template. Now, the DB of the email template can be changed so you can better organize the email templates. =================================================================== ***Changes to Contact Plus Professional Version 3.5.8 =================================================================== 1) The EMMA marketing assistant was not properly transferring smart merge information. This works when doing mass email. There have been cases where your ISP throttles down the number of email messages that can be transmitted. The delay simply waits N seconds between sending each email message which helps to keep your mail connection to your ISP from aborting. For example, if your ISP limits you to sending 600 messages per hour you would need to set the delay to 6 or more seconds which gives you about 10 messages per minute. 5) Fixed problem of marking a set of contact records for export, exporting the records then losing the database currency. If they are, a prompt will ask if a blank record is to be saved. 12) Improved the Event Filter screen so that there is much more selection for event or calendar related reports. Also now able to save the event filter settings on screen to make it easier to repeat the event report. 13) Changed the Database Repair program so that the e-mail addresses are normalized in 3 phases - first e-mail1, then e-mail2 then finally e-mail3. This gives a "priority" to the e-mail1 and is good for retrieving e-mail when multiple e-mail addresses exist in a contact database. 14) Fixed an error where history was not recorded for contacts when printing labels. This only happened when skipping X labels. 15) Fixed an error in alarm function which was very restrictive in the past versions. It would only come up if the alarm was on the exact minute. It now comes up if the alarm was set for now OR earlier. 16) Fixed an error when editing/deleting a filter that has already been activated. Instead of leaving the current filter active, the filter will be deactivated if deleted or edited. 17) Fixed an error when logging a completed letter F9 screen. Sometimes the SENT/RECVD option box would not appear when logging a done letter/email.
