More Space includes several
options for inspecting files. All of the basic features
including the options menu, and browsing, looking in, and
viewing file details are available in the four main
searching windows.
The Duplicate Files window has an added feature of being
able to compare duplicate files, referred to as file pairs.

To compare files at a
glance use the Compare Files feature. Or you can view the
exact characteristics of the two files to make a better
comparison, as the screen to the left shows. The small red
arrows provide an easy way to see which dates are newer.

|
|
In addition, if the files you
are comparing are executable files or Windows library (DLL)
files, More Space will show you the information stored
inside of them. The fields that have different values are
highlighted for you.
If there are more than two files that are duplicates, you
can use the Next Pair and Prev Pair buttons at the bottom of
the window to easily navigate through them.

The Browse window enables you to
browse through your entire hard drive, much like Windows
Explorer, but with more advanced file options. You can
quickly open, view, mark, delete, see details, sort by any
column, and much more.

|
|
The Details button brings up the
details for a file, including the name, type, size,
attributes, and the created, modified, and accessed dates.
It will also show the internal information, if any, such as
company, version, file description, etc.

You can peek "inside" binary
files, or any file for that matter, using the View button.
You have the option of viewing the file in standard ASCII or
hex format. You can also use advanced features such as
viewing only the strings in the file (handy for quickly
finding a phrase), and using clipboard, search, and printing
options.

|
|
Last, but not least, is the
Options popup menu. It includes the Details, Open, and View
options, as well as several options for viewing a list of
files. You can resize the viewing area, mark or unmark all
files, print the list of files, copy filenames only or the
entire grid separated by tabs to the clipboard, or save the
listing as a web page.
