It is often difficult to
evaluate files and folders on your hard drive and their
relation to each other, in terms of size, age, and date.
More Space includes a handy feature which enables you to
view file/folder statistics in easy to read charts and bar
graphs, which can then be customized to your liking and
printed out.
Use the Space tab to see a bar chart or an animated pie
chart representation of your hard drives. The amount of free
space is shown both graphically and in percentage form. It
also shows you the combined used and free space for all of
your hard drives.

The Types tab shows the
main file types found on your hard drive and the relative
percent of each type. You can view the information in a
listing, or in a pie chart by size, number of files, or
average size. This graph can be customized using the toolbar
options.

|
|
The next tab, Sizes, displays
the number of files in particular ranges of file sizes, with
smaller ranges for smaller files. The numbers are also shown
as percentages, and the chart can be changed to display by
number of files instead. This graph can be customized using
the toolbar options.

The Overhang tab shows the
overhang for FAT and FAT32 drives (drives formatted using
DOS, Windows 95 and 98). It's very useful for knowing how
much drive space is being wasted, and how much you could
regain by changing the partition size and/or changing to
FAT32.

|
The Accessed, Created, and
Modified tabs show the accessed, created, and modified dates
of files within certain date ranges. The Combined tab
combines all three tabs into one simple graph for easy
comparison. You can view the chart by size, by number of
files, or in a listing format. This graph can be customized
using the toolbar options.

The Attribute tab displays the
statistics for files labeled as Hidden, Read-only, System,
or Archive. The number of files and the hard drive space
used are shown for each attribute, as well as the individual
percentages for each.

|
The last tab, Time, is useful
for viewing when you use your computer the most. It shows a
rather impressive graph of how many files were created or
modified at certain times of the day. This graph can be
customized using the toolbar options.

The graphs for the Types, Sizes,
Accessed, Created, Modified, Combined, and Time tabs can be
customized using the buttons on the toolbar at the top of
the graph window. The basic functions include Rotate, Move,
Zoom, Depth, Print, and Copy (to the Clipboard). It also
includes an Edit button which enables you to further
customize the graph.

|
|
The Edit window lets you
customize the graph to your heart's delight. A few of the
numerous options for the graphical appearance of the chart
are shown in the screen above. The screen to the right shows
some further options for displaying the data and grid.

You can get a little carried
away in your customization, as the screen to the left shows.
Once you've got it the way you want it be sure to print it
out, or copy it to another application such as Microsoft
Word to include it in a presentation or report.
